Description
We all promote physical activity for our CF patients. And with good reason; enhanced physical activity improves quality of life, reduces loss of lung function, and improves exercise capacity, a recognized prognostic factor in CF. This symposium will address emerging topics related to the assessment of physical activity, programs to improve exercise ability in hospitalized patients and those listed for lung transplantation, and how best to provide nutritional guidance and safe glycemic control for active CF patients.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify activity tracking devices for specific situations.
- Define the components of exercise programs for hospitalized CF patients and for those awaiting lung transplantation for CF.
- Prepare nutritional support and glycemic regulation to enable physical activity for CF patients.
