Description

This session is focused on the mechanisms by which pathogens and host defenses contribute to chronic airways infection and cystic fibrosis disease progression.

Learning Objectives:

  • Demonstrate mechanisms by which CF respiratory pathogens manipulate host defenses to sustain infection.
  • Describe how pathogens adapt to the CF lung microenvironment to survive host immune responses and competition from other pathogens present within the lung.
  • Discuss the role of bacteriophage in respiratory infection and CF disease progression.
