S15: APP&D: The Interface of Innate Immunity in the CF Lung

Oct 29, 2016 2:30pm ‐ Oct 29, 2016 3:55pm

Standard: $49.99

Description

The interplay between CFTR, bacterial infection & airway innate immunity are multiple. Growing evidence also indicates that CFTR plays a key role in directly modulating macrophages & neutrophil function. This symposium will present recent evidence that link CFTR deficiency & infection to abnormal host defenses & hyperinflammation.

Educational Objectives:
  • Summarize the impact of CFTR function on airway mucosal environment.
  • Discuss the role of CFTR function on immune cells.
  • Summarize how Pseudomonas aeruginosa impacts airway inflammation.
