Standard: $49.99

Description

In this session, we will hear from four key thought leaders and researchers in areas of particular interest in CF microbiology. We will hear from Dr. Matt Parsek from the University of Washington about the evolving view of microbial biofilms in CF infection pathogenesis. Dr. Joanna Goldberg from the Emory School of Medicine will give us an update on the current status of vaccines for preventing CF infections. This presentation will be followed by Drs. Pradeep Singh from the University of Washington and John LiPuma at the University of Michigan, who will provide contrasting views of the utility of microbiome studies in studying, diagnosing, and treating CF infections.

Educational Objectives:
  • Review the current state of understanding of the role of biofilms in CF respiratory infections.
  • Describe the progress of vaccines in preventing CF infections.
  • Compare the advantages and disadvantages of traditional culture and microbiome methods in understanding and treating CF infections.
