Description

This session will focus on improving the health of CF patients with CFTR potentiators or increased dietary protein. The links between (a) different growth standards and long-term clinical outcomes in CF children and (b) liver ultrasound imaging features and quality of life will be discussed. Lastly, adipocyte morphological changes in CF and relationship to energy expenditure will be explored.

Educational Objectives:
  • Examine the impact of a CFTR potentiator and protein intake on health in CF patients.
  • Identify associations between growth reference and outcomes in CF children and between the ultrasound appearance of the liver and quality of life.
  • Evaluate how adipocyte morphology changes in CF influence might influence energy expenditure.
