W11: APP&D: Mucins & Mucus in CF

Oct 28, 2016 2:00pm ‐ Oct 28, 2016 3:20pm

Standard: $49.99

Description

This workshop will focus on mucin, mucus, and mucociliary clearance functions in health and dysfunction in CF. The workshop will provide an overview of the mission and accomplishments of the CFFT Mucus Clearance Consortium. Poster presenters will then highlight emerging in vivo CF model systems and their potential applications to study mucus physiology relating to CF disease pathogenesis and therapeutics. Specific focus will be given to the different hypotheses currently been tested as basis for the CF mucus clearance defect and the different therapeutic approaches that they support.

Educational Objectives:
  • Identify the key features of emerging in vivo CF model systems and their potential applications to study mucus physiology relating to CF disease pathogenesis and therapeutics.
  • Describe the different hypotheses currently been tested as basis for the CF mucus clearance defect and the different therapeutic approaches that they support.
  • Summarize the mission, objectives, and perspective of the CCFT Mucus Clearance Consortium.
