This workshop contains presentations of research submitted as abstracts pertaining to Adult and Pediatric Endocrinology in CF (including Diabetes & Bone). Topics this year related to bone disease include identifying risk factors for bone loss and the role of vitamin D in the gut/sputum microbiota. Topics pertinent to diabetes include reports on how the CFTR impacts glucose homeostasis by impacting the beta cell.

Educational Objectives:
  • Define the role of vitamin D in gut microbiome.
  • Define new ways to identify adult patients with bone loss.
  • Summarize new information on CFTR effects on insulin secretion and the beta cell and CFTR active agents on beta cells.
