W27: INF/MIC: Epidemiology & Management of Infection

Oct 29, 2016 10:30am ‐ Oct 29, 2016 11:50am

Standard: $49.99

Description

In this session, new evidence on emerging infections and potential infection control measures to reduce their spread will be presented. Presenters will discuss how new and existing antibacterial treatment strategies affect both patient outcomes and influence chronically infecting bacterial populations.

Educational Objectives:
  • Discuss factors associated with infection transmission and the potential role of masks to mitigate environmental contamination.
  • Describe the epidemiology, treatment and factors influencing therapeutic response of emerging CF pathogens.
  • Describe pathogen factors associated with enhanced virulence and how antibacterial pressures may influence bacterial evolution.
