This course will present an overview of gastrointestinal conditions affecting patients with CF from the perspective of both pediatric and adult gastroenterology providers. Approaches to common intestinal, hepatic, pancreatic, and nutritional issues in CF will be discussed, along with strategies to best coordinate and develop partnerships between CF centers and local gastroenterologists to care for CF patients across the life spectrum.
Discuss and apply a systematic approach to the evaluation of Abdominal Pain, Constipation, and DIOS in patients with CF.
Create working definitions of hepatic and pancreatic disease manifestations in CF, and address strategies for optimal nutritional monitoring and management throughout the life spectrum.
Discuss colorectal cancer trends in CF, and approaches to proactive screening and surveillance in the aging CF population.
