Description

Exercise is an important functional and prognostic factor. Research in exercise in CF presents a variety of study design challenges, including selection of the patient population, study intervention, outcome measures, and data analysis plan. This short course is designed to provide the participant with the fundamentals needed to conduct research in exercise in CF, culminating in a group design activity- bring your ideas!

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe the knowledge gap and research question you wish to answer in exercise and physical activity in Cystic Fibrosis.
  2. Identify exercise and physical activity assessment tools and outcome measures needed to answer the research question.
  3. Design a trial with appropriate inclusion and excluision criteria, sample size calculation, and data analysis plan.
