S19 - S19: NRS: Beyond the Lungs

While recognizing there are multiple issues which can and may affect the Cystic Fibrosis patient across the life span, this session will address four significant areas of major concern. Symposium attendees will hear presentations on current and pending guidelines for Cancer Screening, recognizing, diagnosing and effectively treating Cystic Fibrosis Related Diabetes, the importance of physical therapy and exercise, and arthropathy and musculoskeltal changes that can affect the CF patient throughout the life span.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Summarize Cancer screening guidelines, describe & apply recommended studies and appropriate screening for various cancers.
  2. Describe & explain current guidelines for treating CFRD, review standards of care, & unique concerns to this diagnosis.
  3. Identify symptoms of physical & musculoskeletal changes, pathology of arthropathy, & describe methods of diagnosis, evaluation & treatment.
