University of Gothenburg

Graduated in Biology from Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona, Spain, 2006) and Pharmacy from University of Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain, 2014). Master in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Autonomous University of Barcelona (Bellaterra, Spain, 2008). PhD in Structural Biology from Autonomous University of Barcelona (Bellaterra, Spain, 2013). During my PhD tenure at the Department of Structural Biology at the Molecular Biology Institute of Barcelona, Spanish Research Council (CSIC), I had been associated with several projects, all of them centering around and exploring structure-function relationship in phosphatases, peptidases and peptidic inhibitors. My major research goals involved solving crystal structures of enzyme-inhibitor complexes using X-ray crystallography. Since 2015 I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Medical Biochemistry at the Institute of Biomedicine, University of Gothenburg (Gothenburg, Sweden), where I study gel-forming mucins from a structural point of view and how they interact and organize in order to protect the underlying epithelia in the respiratory system.
