Dr. Yoon received Ph.D. from the Yonsei University in Korea in 2009, where he worked under the supervision of Dr. Min Goo Lee.

His research included studies on the regulation of pancreatic epithelial anion transporters such as SLC26, TMEM16, and CFTR. From 2010 to 2011 he taught at the Catholic Kwandong University College of Medicine in Korea. In 2012, he joined Dr. William Skach’s lab at the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland as a postdoctoral fellow to study the cotranslational folding of CFTR protein. His current research interests in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Therapeutics, Lexington, include determining how CFTR cotranslational modulators and premature termination codon (PTC) readthrough modulators have an influence on ribosomal profiling in CFTR as well as translatome (translated fraction of the transcriptome).
