Dr. Stephanie D Davis, Professor of Pediatrics, is the Section Director for Pediatric Pulmonology, Allergy, and Sleep Medicine and the Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs for the Department of Pediatrics at Riley Children's Hospital (Indiana University School of Medicine). Dr. Davis' research interests include elucidating the early pathogenesis cystic fibrosis. As part of this research, she and her team investigate endpoints (physiologic, imaging measures) that identify early lung disease in cystic fibrosis. Further, she has actively evaluated the efficacy of hypertonic saline in early cystic fibrosis lung disease. She also leads a NIH-funded multinational collaboration between Indiana University, Washington University, and the AREST-CF group in Australia which aims at characterizing the early pathogenesis of cystic fibrosis lung disease during infancy, particularly focusing on early viral infections, the airway microbiome, inflammatory profiles, as well as functional and structural changes.
