Kara Weiland received a BA in psychology with a minor in community health from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2009. She received her MSW from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2011. Ms. Weiland worked at The Johns Hopkins Hospital until 2012 with the inpatient infectious disease service, primarily working with adults living with HIV/AIDS. From 2012 to 2016, Ms. Weiland worked at Bon Secours Richmond Community Hospital in Richmond, VA as the emergency department social worker, focused mostly on crisis counseling and intervention. Ms. Weiland has been with the University of Alabama Birminghamâ€™s Adult CF Center since 2016 as the social worker and mental health coordinator.
