Jay Kolls M.D.

Jay K. Kolls received his M.D. from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, USA. He received clinical training in internal medicine and pediatrics at the Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center, New Orleans, USA, and in adult and pediatric pulmonary medicine at the LSU and Tulane University, New Orleans, USA, respectively. He completed postdoctoral research training in immunology in the laboratory of B. Beutler at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, USA. He then joined the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, in 2003, where he is currently Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Richard King Mellon Institute for Pediatric Research. His research focuses on mucosal immunity in the lungs, T-cell immunology, and pathogenesis of AIDS-related opportunistic infections.
