Having received my Ph.D. from Newcastle University, UK in 2015 I begun my post-doctoral work in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Tarran within the Marsico Lung Institute at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2015. My research focuses on epithelial cell biology, with specific regard to ion channel activity. Currently, I am investigating the role of the Short Palate Lung and Nasal Epithelial Clone 1 (SPLUNC1) protein in CF airways, and how CF mediated degradation of this protein influences epithelial ion transport.
