April received her B.S. in Psychology from The Ohio State University in 2008 and M.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati in 2013. She began her research career as a Research Assistant, focusing on cognitive perception of how we navigate moving targets, gender and personality differences in various aspects of sexual behavior, and perceptions of racial disparities. April started working at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH in 2010 for the Center for Biobehavioral Health. As a Clinical Research Coordinator Team Lead, she managed several multisite intervention-based pediatric traumatic brain injury (TBI) studies. April is currently a Senior Research Regulatory Coordinator at Nationwide Children's Hospital in the Division of Pulmonary Medicine. She coordinates the regulatory processes for pediatric and adult CF clinical trials, works closely with industry sponsors and internal committees, provides guidance to research teams, and ensures compliance with federal regulations and internal guidelines and policies. April is a Certified Clinical Research Professional through SOCRA and a member of ACRP. Her current interests include improving research team dynamics in order to increase team efficiency and develop best practices.
