Emily Dulcan is the Online Community Experience Lead at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, where she builds connections and community so people living with CF can better manage their disease and maintain health. Emily works on the virtual connections team in the Foundation's Community Partnerships department, which provides individual and community programs and services for people living with CF and their family. Emily began her work with the Foundation in 2015 as the Director of Digital Engagement and Director of Communications for Community Partnerships, overseeing the Foundation's national social media, email and multimedia programs. Emily has worked for several years in online community building and digital engagement, supporting candidates for office and political figures, including President Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee. In 2012, Emily served as the first Digital Director for the Peace Corps, the federal agency with the mission of promoting world peace and friendship through volunteerism and cultural exchange. Emily has a master's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri and a bachelor's degree in religious studies from the University of California, Berkeley. Emily believes that to build well-being and empathy we must taste the world's food, listen to people's stories and care for one's self. Emily enjoys cooking, reading, travel, swimming, yoga and outdoor adventures.
