Shaopeng \Leo\ Yuan received BS in bioengineering in 2007 from University of California, Berkeley. He had been a research associate with the Cardiovascular Research Institute at University of California, San Francisco from 2008 to 2014. Mr. Yuan served the role of laboratory manager for Fahy Laboratory and UCSF Airway Clinical Research Center. He was actively involved in the research projects focusing on discovering the mechanisms behind airway diseases such as asthma and cystic fibrosis. He has contributed to several peer-reviewed research publications. He initiated an independent project aimed at understanding the viscoelastic properties of sputum. This project resulted the discovery of one of novel mechanisms of cystic fibrosis mucus elasticity. Mr. Yuan has presented his work at several international and regional conferences including ATS International Conferences and the Bay Area CF Meeting.He is currently a graduate fellow of the David Rockefeller Graduate Program at the Rockefeller University.
