Jonathan Cogen M.D., M.P.H.

Assistant Professor

Jonathan Cogen received his MD and MPH from George Washington University in 2011. He completed his pediatrics residency at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago and pediatric pulmonary fellowship at Seattle Children's Hospital. As a pulmonary fellow, he won the 2015 Safeway Outstanding CF Junior Clinical Researcher Award which is given to a deserving clinical fellow working in the area of cystic fibrosis. Dr. Cogen is currently an Assistant Professor at Seattle Children's Hospital and splits his time between clinical and research duties. His primary research focuses on antimicrobial use in cystic fibrosis and the use of large datasets to answer questions related to CF epidemiology. In 2018, Dr. Cogen helped successfully link the US CF National Patient Registry with the Pediatric Health Information System administrative database, a dataset that includes inpatient clinical and resource utilization data from 49 US children's hospital. This linked dataset will help address important questions related to CF inpatient treatment and management. He additionally serves as a member of the CF quality improvement group at his home institution.
