Bijean Ford received his bachelor's degree in biology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (Charlotte, NC), before gaining employment as a research assistant at WIL Research Labs, Inc (Hillsborough, NC) and bio-technician at Merck (Durham, NC). He later participated in a PREP post-baccalaureate program at Emory University (Atlanta GA), before subsequently matriculating into the university's Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis program, as an IMSD fellow. Currently, Bijean is a doctoral candidate in the lab of Dr. Rabin Tirouvanziam, participating in the Early CF consortium composed of patient cohorts and collaborators from Perth, Australia and Rotterdam, Netherlands, as well as the IMPEDE CF cohort at Emory University. His dissertation research is focused on patient- and model-based studies of immune cell interplay in cystic fibrosis patients, while assessing their immunological and metabolic phenotypes.
