Elissa Cohen Engel M.S.W., L.S.W.
Elissa Cohen Engel received her Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY New Paltz in 1992. She received her Master of Social Work degree from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work, Yeshiva University 1994. She started working at Morristown Medical Center in 2001, and joined the Adult CF Center at Morristown in 2004. She provides care to approximately 100 adult patients. Mrs. Cohen Engel has continued to participate in National Cystic Fibrosis Conferences as a speaker, co-moderator, and as a panel member. She took part in the TIDES Depression/Anxiety Study. Mrs. Cohen Engel presented on her original research in 2010 on The Use of Integrative Medicine in the Treatment of Hospitalized and Outpatient Adult CF Patients. This was presented in poster format as follow up work at Morristown Medical Centers Research day in 2013. She presented her work in poster format on the role of the social worker in CF Care Centers at NACFC in 2013. Mrs. Cohen Engel co-moderated a session on palliative care at NACFC in 2014. Mrs. Cohen Engel has currently been involved with a quality improvement project looking at the prevalence of interdisciplinary CF providers addressing sexuality and/or intimacy with Cystic Fibrosis patients. The results of this project will be presented at NACFC 2015.
