Julie Balzano Ph.D.

Julie Balzano received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University in 2012, and completed her predoctoral fellowship in Clinical and Community Psychology at Yale School of Medicine, with concentrations in Behavioral Medicine and Neuropsychology. Dr. Balzano completed her postdoctoral residency training in Clinical Health Psychology at the VA CT Healthcare System. Her clinical and research interests focus on how individuals and families cope with chronic medical illness. She has published at local and national conferences and has authored and contributed to publications on health psychology-related topics relevant to individuals with chronic disease. Dr. Balzano is currently collaborating with researchers at the MJHS Institute for Innovation in Palliative Care and Mount Sinai Beth Israel on a clinical trial examining a novel screening-and-early-intervention model of palliative care for adults with Cystic Fibrosis.
