Shannon received her bachelor's degree dietetics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1995 and her Masters Degree in dietetics from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1998. Shannon has been in her role as a dietitian partnering with people with CF for nearly 20 years. Shannon is excited to be part of the evolution of CF care as medical advances continue to improve the lives of those living with CF. Shannon has realized through her experiences in working with CF and research, that growth and nutrition are more individualized than other aspects of CF care. She is passionate about and dedicated to improving nutrition outcomes with her CF patients and their families. Shannon serves as a mentor to enhancing CF nutrition care knowledge of our medical team, fellows, interns and residents. Shannon is active in her local CF community events, participating or volunteering for Great Strides, Brew to Brew and planning our annual CF Family Education Day. In her spare time, Shannon enjoys being outdoors: hiking, running and swimming. Shannon's proudest claim to fame is completing a marathon in all 50 states in 2016. Shannon is inspired by her patients to push herself beyond what she thinks she is capable of.
