Sigrid Ladores Ph.D., R.N., P.N.P., C.N.E.
Dr. Sigrid Ladores is a pediatric nurse practitioner, certified nurse educator, and researcher. She received her BSN (1997) and MSN (2002) from the University of Pennsylvania, and her PhD (2013) from the University of Central Florida. Her MSN included preparation for both Acute/Chronic Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist roles. Her area of research is sexual and reproductive health, and palliative care for individuals with cystic fibrosis (CF). She has been a nursing faculty for 16 years and is currently an Associate Professor and Co-Director of the BSN Honors Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing. She enjoys teaching and learning with students across all levels (pre-licensure to graduate students). She also enjoys mentoring students and junior faculty. She is an Associate Scientist for the UAB CF Research Center and Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities. Her research has been funded by intramural, foundation and federal grants. When Dr. Ladores is not teaching, writing, or conducting research, she is involved in various professional and community organizations. She is a well-respected scholar and has been invited to speak in local, regional, national, and international conferences. She has earned several awards for her excellence in teaching, mentorship and research.
