Guoshun Wang D.V.M., Ph.D.

Dr. Wang received his veterinary medicine and PhD degrees in China. He moved to the United States in 1992 and completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Iowa. He is currently a tenured faculty member in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology in Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) at New Orleans. Dr. Wang has worked in the cystic fibrosis (CF) field for nearly two decades. His research interests include cystic fibrosis disease pathogenesis, CF gene and stem cell-based therapy, neutrophil biology in oxidant production, phagocytic innate immunity and lung host defense, and alcohol effect on glucocorticoid receptor signaling and cell immune response. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers and served as a reviewer for many journals and grant agencies including NIH, Italian and Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundations.
