Rebekah F. Brown M.D.

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Dr. Rebekah Brown received her M.D. from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2003. She completed pediatric residency and a chief residency year at the Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron in 2007 and a pediatric pulmonary fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2010. Dr. Brown joined the pediatric pulmonary faculty at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2010 and assumed the role of Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Center in 2011. She has been the site principal investigator for multicenter trials through the TDN. Dr. Brown has been active in student, trainee and faculty development at Vanderbilt. She serves as a clinical experience mentor for medical students as well as undergraduate students at Vanderbilt. She has been a Portfolio Coach for a cohort of medical students from 2014-2018, providing coaching and mentorship throughout the medical school experience for these students. She has been serving on the steering committee for the Hazinski Society, a professional development curriculum for junior faculty in the Department of Pediatrics since its development in 2011 and has been a Hazinski Society Small Group Preceptor since 2016. Dr. Brown has contributed to publications related to the success of and curriculum development for the Hazinski Society. Dr. Brown contributes to principal investigator research at Vanderbilt with collaboration with gastroenterology, immunology and infectious disease divisions at Vanderbilt. Dr. Brown is active in quality improvement for her division and CF Center at Vanderbilt. She has lead the multidisciplinary team in ongoing quality improvement projects and completed the Quality Academy at Vanderbilt, a year-long quality improvement course. Dr. Brown's personal research interests include quality improvement and patient centered care as well as educational and curriculum development.
