Dr. Levy is recognized nationally for her expertise as a leader in clinical and research advances in respiratory disorders of infancy, childhood, and adulthood focusing on Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and Cystic Fibrosis metabolic syndrome. She has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed articles, reviews, chapters, and abstracts. Her clinical and research programs have grown to include a wide-ranging referral base throughout the United States. Dr. Levy was recently awarded the NIH's Innovator Award to support her genomics research in CF. Additionally, Dr. Levy has patented a genetic test to predict CF disease severity. Dr. Levy's long term career objectives are to 1) build the model Cystic Fibrosis program in Pediatrics---with wholly innovative protocols and technology for in and out-patient application; 2) develop a Center for Excellence in Pulmonary Medicine to establish cradle-to-adulthood care and research 3) improve visibility and research of rare disease medicine to understand basic systems in health; and 4) train the next generation of experts in respiratory disease .
