Dr Calthorpe received her BMBS medical degree in 2014 from the University of Nottingham, UK. She is a paediatric registrar, having started paediatric training in 2016, and became a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2018. As part of her training, she has completed 6 months of research with the Evidenced Based Child Health group at the University of Nottingham, working on the James Lind Alliance top 10 research priorities in cystic fibrosis. In addition, she has completed a piece of work assessing the role of digital technology in cystic fibrosis used for home monitoring, adherence and self-management. Other areas of research interest include the effect of sound and vibration in preterm neonates undergoing inter-hospital transport, which she has presented at the international joint European Neonatal Societies Conference 2019.
