Lieuwe Bos Ph.D., M.D.

Lieuwe Bos is a pulmonologist in training from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He works in the Amsterdam University Medical Center on the departments of respiratory medicine and intensive care medicine as well as in the laboratory of experimental intensive care and anesthesiology. Dr. Bos graduated cum laude as a medical from the University of Amsterdam. He defended his PhD dissertation called titled 'Diagnosis of pulmonary injury and infection by exhaled breath analysis' at the University of Amsterdam with honour. He received grants from the Dutch lung foundation, the European Respiratory Society and from the European Union through the FP-7 programme. Dr. Bos was awarded the junior investigator award from the European Society for Intensive Care Medicine in 2012. His main research interest is the development of non-invasive diagnostic tests for pulmonary infection, inflammation and injury. Within the European Respiratory Society, Dr. Bos is the chair of the early career members committee, representing over 20.000 physicians and researchers below 40 years of age with an interest in respiratory medicine. He has published 100 PubMed indexed articles with a mean impact factor of 8 and has a Google Scholar H-index of 23.
