Esther Villarreal BSRN
Esther Villarreal received an ADN in nursing in 1993 from Arapahoe Community College. She then received her BSN in nursing from Regis University in 2013. She practiced at Rose Medical Center in Adult Intensive Care and Hospital Supervisor from 1994 until 2015. Esther assumed the role of Hospital Supervisor at St. Joseph Hospital in 2005. In this role she served as a resource to all hospital associates, responding to emergent and non-emergent situations, assisting with problem solving as needed. In 2016 Esther assumed the role of Clinical Manager of the Respiratory Institute Unit, with the help of her team, this unit was expanded from a 24 bed unit to a 30 bed inpatient unit at St. Joseph Hospital. Management of this unit includes overseeing a team of 50 associates who care for Respiratory patients, including an average of 17 or more adult Cystic Fibrosis patients on this unit at all times. She works very closely with the National Jewish CF Clinic in process improvement projects to better the care, and improve satisfaction of the inpatient Cystic Fibrosis patient. She has continued service as a member on the Respiratory Service Line Steering Committee at St. Joseph Hospital. This team is a strategic committee with appropriate decisional authority for coordination and alignment of performance, quality, structure, and growth regarding our Respiratory Center of Excellence.
