Dr. Rob Horowitz began work in the field of addiction in 1985. He obtained his MD in 1993 at the University of Rochester, where he was resident in Medicine-Pediatrics. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Hospice & Palliative Care. He became the first Medical Director of Rochester's Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program in 1999, and served in this role until July of 2015, when he became Chief of the University of Rochester Medical Center's Palliative Care Division. For the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry he directs the Comprehensive Assessment program and teaches about palliative care, pain management, and communication skills.
