Ajai A. Dandekar M.D., Ph.D.

Ajai Dandekar received and M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 2005. He subsequently moved to the University of Washington where he was a resident in Internal Medicine and then a fellow in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He is presently an associate professor of Medicine and Microbiology at the University of Washington, where he is an attending physician in the adult CF clinic. Dr Dandekar's research focuses on bacterial communication in Pseudomonas aeruginosa, both as a general phenomenon and as it relates to CF. His interest is in better understanding the P. aeruginosa ecology of the CF lung, with the long-term goal of better management or, ideally, eradication of these infecting populations.
