Asmahan AbuArish Ph.D.

Dr. Asmahan Abu-Arish obtained a PhD degree in Molecular Biophysics from McMaster University and her doctorate focused on using biophysical techniques to explain proteins positional behaviors in different cellular compartments through studying their mobility and molecular densities. She is currently a Research Associate working with Prof. John Hanrahan in the Department of Physiology at McGill University. Dr. Abu-Arish is highly interested in employing biophysical and physiological techniques to study the efficacy of small molecule correctors/potentiators in the restoration of mutant CFTR membrane distribution and function. Her post-doctoral studies were supported by NSERC and Cystic Fibrosis Canada (CFC) fellowships, and she is currently supported by Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) grant.
