I am Professor of Child Health at the University of Nottingham and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at Nottingham Children's Hospital. My clinical focus is cystic fibrosis (CF). My research interests are include effective ways to treat infection in CF and minimising the adverse effects of treatment. I have led a number of patient engagement exercise which have defined new research priorities including research into the causes of gastrointestinal symptoms in CF. I am now engaged in discovery science, using MRI imaging in this area. I am joint Editor in Chief of the journal Thorax and Co-ordinating Editor of the Cochrane Cystic Fibrosis & Genetic Disorders Group. When not working, I am a keen cyclist and pilot.
