Penelope Agent B.Sc.(Hons), D.M.S.

Penelope (Penny) Agent graduated as a Chartered Physiotherapist from King's College London in 1994 and has worked at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust since 1996. She is currently the Director of Rehabilitation and Therapies where she combines a strategic and operational leadership role, and maintains her clinical interest in Cystic Fibrosis. She has recently completed a 15-month leadership scholarship from the Florence Nightingale Foundation which combined extensive opportunities for leadership development with study tours to review high quality clinical practice (Cleveland Clinic and Virginia Mason Institute). Penny was co-lead editor of the UK 'Standards of care and good clinical practice for the physiotherapy management of people with CF' guidelines (2011) and has published several chapters and scientific articles, most recently on inhalation therapy for CF. Penny was the chair of the UK Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in CF from 2009-12 and is an internationally accredited (IPG/CF) airway clearance instructor. She is passionate about education in CF and has been the course facilitator and a faculty member on the ECFS accredited 'Managing the care of children and adults with CF' course for 14 years, run twice a year in London. She maintains her clinical and research interest in CF and is passionate about best practice, quality improvement and transformational leadership for healthcare.
